FIRE SHUTTERS

A & S Group manufactures the Alsecure range of fully tested and certified fire shutters, fire curtains and smoke curtains, which can be designed for and installed in retail premises, warehouses, manufacturing plants, kitchens, restaurants and offices.

Composition and manufacture
Fire shutters manufactured from galvanised-steel components.
Fire curtains manufactured from reinforced glass fibre with special reflective coating.
Smoke curtains manufactured from polychloroprene-coated glass fibre.

Size and weight
Fire shutters: available in standard sizes up to 7 x 7m.
Fire curtains: available up to 12m in height and in various widths (5m, 15m, 50m, etc).
Smoke curtains: available up to 18m width and 5m drop; larger sizes available by special assessment.

Appearance
Fire shutters can be powder coated, finished in a range of BS or RAL colours.
Fire-curtain boxes, bottom bar and guides, smoke-curtain boxes and bottom bar may be finished in BS or RAL colours.

Effect of fire
Fire shutters rated up to 240mins fire resistance to BS 476-22:1987.
Fire curtains rated up to 120mins fire resistance to BS 476-22:1987;
Class 0 fire propagation to BS 476-6:1989; and Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS 476-7:1997.
Smoke curtains fully tested to BS 7346-3:1990; rated up to 120mins fire resistance to BS 476-20:1987 and prEN 12101-1; Class 0 fire propagation to BS 476-6:1989; and Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS 476-7:1997.
